Become a member of L.A.O.K.O. and receive our newsletters and updates about our organisation. As a member you are able to volunteer to become a carer, we’ll provide all the training you’ll need and continued support.
We welcome members from all walks of life and currently have members from all over Australia. By joining L.A.O.K.O., you will be part of
a network of dedicated like-minded local people who want to help wildlife.
If you are interested in helping our wildlife, there are a number of ways you can become actively involved:
• helping to staff the 24 hour emergency phone service (even a few hours a month helps and training is provided);
• animal rescue (training provided);
• animal rehabilitation (training provided)
• sewing pouches for joeys;
• assisting to build animal enclosures;
• administration e.g. training, fundraising, publicity, joining the Committee;
If you’d like to become a carer with us, make sure you specify this on your application for membership and keep an eye out for the next Training Day that you’ll need to attend to become a qualified carer us. Training Days are advertised on the members site, in our newsletters and in our local papers.
As a member it’s not a requirement that you become a carer, simply joining L.A.O.K.O. will give us financial assistance in keeping our
non profit organisation afloat.
L.A.O.K.O. networks with other licensed wildlife organisations and is a member of the NSW Wildlife Council. L.A.O.K.O. has public liability and personal accident insurance cover for its members.
L.A.O.K.O. annual fees are $20.00 for Individual membership, $30.00 for Family membership and $50.00 for Corporate membership.
